The Misfits

All the way up until the show, I wasn’t expecting a good show, not because I didn’t think they could do it, but just because I thought it would be weird with no Danzig, or even Graves. But boy was I wrong, I just witnessed one of the greatest shows ever. The Misfits played for about an hour and sounded amazing, the tempo of the songs were a bit faster than what they are normally but I loved it, they also played a few Black Flag songs, which was alright. The stage was pretty cool looking also, very Halloweenish, yeah, what do you expect? Jerry looked great aside, from his thinning devil-lock, it was perfect haha. Pretty much the only things they didn’t play that I wanted to hear was: Bullet, She, Mommy Can I Go Out And Kill Tonight and Where Eagles Dare.  But they played a good amount of songs, as you can see, and I am willing to bet I forgot at least 5 songs. Oh well, you know what you missed, sucks for you.

Besides that, we got home from Houston in 50 minutes tonight, which is almost as awesome as the concert was. But for now, bed, and no work for two days. Fuck Yes.

I just got the most comfortable jacket ever made in the mail. I really want to just wear it and go to sleep, I can’t even begin to describe how great this jacket is…

I Hate Today

Well, it has been awhile since I’ve done anything on here. Nothing really interesting has been happening so I don’t really see a point in writing too much on here.

I have been talking to the really nice guys over at the Swastika Freakshop, in Germany. I have become pretty infatuated with their tattoo work. It is mostly all stippled, or dot-work, and it completely blows me away, I really want to get some work done by them or an artist like them. Here are a few examples of it, check them out… I believe their site is down for construction still, but you should be able to do a Google search of them or even check out some of their work that has been submitted to BME.

So, if anyone wants to take a trip with me to Germany so I can get tattooed by this bad ass motherfucker, let me know. I will make it happen, I do believe i have a whole back for this man to do.

But that is about it for now, I’ll post some more things when something interesting or worthwhile happens, those times are few and far between as of late.

I have a lot to write about, but I’m going to save it until it’s completely finished, so keep your eyes out, there will be a long blog entry coming in the next few days. Hopefully not too much longer than that.

On a lighter note, I talked to a friend from IAM, Roxy, and she works at a thrift store in Louisiana and about a month ago I asked her to keep an eye out for some leather jackets, considering she gets them for hella cheap. When I spoke to her today she informed me that she has 2 of them to send me, I am fucking stoked.

There’s a place where everyone can be happy. It’s the most beautiful place in the whole fucking world. It’s made of candy canes and planes and bright red choo-choo trains, and the meanest little boys and the most innocent little girls. And you know I wish that I could got there, it’s a road that I have not found. And I wish you the best of luck, dear, drop a card or letter to my side of town. Because there’s no time for fussing and fighting my friend, but baby I’m amazed at the hate that you can send and you, painted my entire world, but I don’t have the turpentine to clean what you have soiled. And I won’t forget it.

There’s a place where everyone can be right, even though you remain determined to be opposed. Admittance requires no qualifications: It’s where everyone has been and where everybody goes. So please try not to be impatient, for we all hate standing in line. And when the farm is good and bought, you’ll be there without a thought, an eternity, my friend, is a long fucking time.

So, it’s been a few days and a bit has happened, but nothing too interesting.

I know that I already posted about having my scalpels on the way to my as we speak, and I’m pretty stoked about getting them in. But, since I last wrote, I have ordered a pair of slotted clamps to help the process go along smoothly. The plan is for me to start the process on the 30th, the day after this “Misfits” concert, and I’m going to have three days off after it, (Sunday, Monday and Tuesday). I have everything fairly planned out with the help of a lot of the kind people on IAM and Shannon Larratt.

Speaking of the kind people on IAM, I have been talking to someone from IAM, she’s pretty badass too. Strangely we have a lot in common. A lot of the people that I have met on IAM have turned out to be very cool and good people. I just wish there were some more members that lived closer to me so I could actually meet and hang out with them.

Today, I went and bought some new pants. They are the same exact ones that I already have two pairs of, except these are called “indie fit” instead of “skinny,” I guess that just means the legs are a bit wider, by like an inch at most. I like the way these fit better.

I need one more leather jacket to paint. I have an idea that I really want to do on the back of one. I want to paint the Misfits “bullet” picture on it, you know, the one with JFK’s head being blown off… It should make a great back of a leather jacket. The only problem is, at this time of the year, strangely enough, those type of jackets are hard to come by at a decent price. I can find them all over the place in the summer time for about $40, but now they seem to disappear, which I guess I understand. So if anyone has one or knows where I can get one for a decent price, please let me know, it doesnt matter what condition it’s in, as long as the back is good for the most part and preferable sizes M-L or sizes 42-44.
